Towpath

As the popularity of running has risen so too have running clubs. What once was a niche interest between friends has become a much larger operation, meaning a Venmo request here and a group chat there doesn’t cut it anymore. That’s why founders, Trevor and Doug, founded Towpath—a management platform tailored to make running clubs run simpler and easier.

Towpath needed a brand that clearly positioned them as a simple platform while feeling intrinsic to running culture itself. Think Marie Kondo meets Eliud Kipchoge. Ultimately, the brand gives Towpath the ability to communicate the value of simplicity without being perceived as an outsider in endurance sports.

Towpath logo

A towpath is a road or trail along the bank of a river or canal. Originally used to tow boats, these paths have now become some of the more beautiful and frequented paths to run on across the globe. The logo and wordmark take these paths at face value by infusing them into letterforms. At Jekyll we take what the defense gives us.

Just as Towpath's software converges several tools into one platform, it also facilitates the convergence of many people to one spot for the sake of sport and camaraderie. So the use of converging lines as an element throughout the brand experience became a no-brainer.
